Successor of the social energy tariffs, the power monitoring widespread in 2018 is about to be sent to eligible households. With a price of between 48 and 277 euros, this device, created to help pay electricity and gas bills, is intended for 5.8 million beneficiary households. Coming this year in addition to exceptional energy check of 100 euros decided last September by the government to support low-income households in the face of rising energy prices.

The energy check is distributed subject to means test. To benefit from it, you must have an annual reference tax income (RFR) of less than 10,800 euros per consumption unit. Its amount then varies according to the composition of the household and its income.
For example, a single-person household (a consumer unit) will be entitled to €48 if its RFR is between €7,700 and €10,800, €98 between €6,700 and €7,700, €146 between €5,600 and €6,700, and €194 for an annual RFR of less than 5600 euros. The first energy checks of the year 2022 will be sent from this Wednesday until the end of April. They are usually received between 2 and 4 days after shipment. The schedule by department is as follows:

> For what?
Households that can take advantage of the energy check do not have to do anything. With the information available, the tax administration is responsible for listing all the beneficiaries before sending this list to the Payment Services Agency, which is responsible for sending it.
The energy check can be used to pay energy bills and fuel purchases (electricity, natural gas or liquefied petroleum, diesel, firewood, etc.), energy fees to be paid in certain establishments such as nursing homes, but also certain jobs or energy housing expenses (pellet boiler, heat pump, insulation, etc.). The check is valid until March 31, 2023.
