Doctor Strange 2: Zombies in the next Marvel movie!

news culture Doctor Strange 2: Zombies in the next Marvel movie!

As Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness gets closer to release, Marvel and Disney are ramping up the promotion for the film and unveiling an all-new trailer that features plenty of surprises.

Doctor Strange 2 reveals a terrifying universe

Just a few days ago, Marvel and Disney shared a 30-second commercial for Doctor strange in the multiverse of madness in which we could see Stephen Strange, Wong and Wanda Maximoff teaming up to deal with a situation out of control. Today, this same teaser offers 30 seconds of additional time to reveal a little more about this new production directed by Sam Raimi (the director to whom we owe the films Evil Dead and the trilogy Spiderman with Tobey Maguire).

What’s more, is Doctor strange in the multiverse of madness seems to inherit the director’s codes, since the feature film, if we are to believe the latest trailer available above, seems to immerse the Marvel universe in a world that plays with the codes of terror. The setting is terrifying and Stephen Strange is faced with visions that are disgusting to say the least. As proof, we can see at least two zombies in this new trailer. The first appears at 40 seconds and the second, a little later, at 49 seconds. Here, Stephen Strange himself is transformed into a zombie.

The movie is a journey through the multiverse, so you see different iterations of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange, and even Lizzie Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff. So the actors have to play that. It is a great challenge for them to play these modified versions of themselves and a great pleasure for me to direct them. Sam RaimiDirector

A reference to the Marvel Zombies comics

note that This isn’t the first time Marvel has injected zombies into its universe. In fact, in 2005, Robert Kirkman, the author of the comic series The Walking Deaddirects the miniseries wonder zombies where we can see our favorite heroes behaving like living dead thirsty for fresh meat. That’s not all, a few years later, the world of wonder zombies there is even a crossover offered called army of darkness featuring Ash Williams as the main character, the hero of the trilogy Evil Dead by Sam Raimi. So we imagine that with the arrival of zombies in Doctor strange in the multiverse of madness that Sam Raimi intends to refer to his first creation launched in 1981.

Note also that Disney has also ventured into the subject with the animated series And yes…? available on Disney+. In fact, episode 5 of the series called What if… zombies invaded Earth? features Hank Pym (Ant-Man) who has to face a horde of zombies made up of Captain America and many other characters from the Marvel universe.

A Marvel Zombies series in the future?

It could also be that these sequences of Doctor strange in the multiverse of madness prepare the future of the MCU since, let us remember, within the framework of Disney + Day, the house with the big ears had announced that an animated series wonder zombies would see the light of day. Unfortunately, the latter does not yet have a release date, but we can still see its logo that is available on the opposite side.
