Elden Ring: Finish the game in less than 7 min, it is possible

game news Elden Ring: Finish the game in less than 7 min, it is possible

There is no stop talking about Elden Ring, the latest addition to the Souls saga. After a unanimous response from the press and players, endless sales records and the arrival of numerous mods, each one crazier than the last, players fight to finish the game in record time. Also, today, an amateur has just achieved a new feat.

Record time broken again

Since the release of Elden Ring on February 26, the most talented players have been fighting to complete the game as quickly as possible. Just a few days ago, a certain Distortion2 let us know of his prowess in streaming an amazing speedrun. The content creator who had already completed the game in less than 13 minutes broke his own record finishing the title in just 8 minutes and 56 seconds. We thought this new score was impossible to beat, and yet Distortion2 once again proved us wrong.

In fact, the speedrunner had the ambition to go under the seven-minute mark, and what we can say is that he succeeded. He just shared his new performance on his channel and it’s beyond impressive. This time, Distortion2 finished the game in 6 minutes and 59 seconds. In other words: goal accomplished. To see his race, we recommend that you take a look at the video available below.

The speedrunner technique revealed

As with their previous album, to achieve this new performance, Distortion2 reverted to the zip mechanics. The latter, if you don’t know what it means, allows you to pass giant chasms, or better, teleport to specific places on the map to save precious seconds. To achieve such a feat, the player must stop and move at the same time, and this, in a very restricted time. In addition to propelling the player from one place to another on the map, this movement technique, to say the least amazing, leaves no time to load the environments. When your character lands in an area, the landscape is invisible. This allows our hero of the day to travel long distances in just a few hundredths of a second, but also instantly get rid of certain bosses, which are difficult to beat, by making them fall into the void.

That’s not all, also keep in mind that the speedrunner does not hesitate to use fast travel or restart the game to, once again, gain a few seconds. In fact, restarting the game allows you to skip certain animations that take time to unfold on the screen. And contrary to what you may think, this technique is not considered cheating, since in a speedrun the only thing that is taken into account is the game time, loading times and other menu passages do not count.

The question we can ask ourselves now is: “Will we be entitled to a new one in the next few days?”
