What was the surprise of the viewers in front of this ninth episode of the culinary competition when Stéphane Rotenberg announced that the candidate Lilian Douchet “had to stop the contest for personal reasons”. A setback, of which no details were given during the broadcast, but which allowed the last eliminated, Wilfried Romain, to reintegrate the adventure to the team of pablo part.

“As established by the regulations, the last outgoing, Wilfried, replaces him,” explained the driver at the beginning of the program. An unexpected exit and without real explanation that did not leave the spectators impassive, attached to the atypical career of this cook.

In fact, Lilian was one of the collateral victims of the COVID-19. When he had just bought his first restaurant, the coronavirus prevented the young chef from opening his establishment, forcing him to leave the kitchen – for almost two years – in favor of a job as a manager in a hypermarket.

Which causes misunderstanding among fans of the M6 ​​competition. On Twitter, they did not hide their disappointment at not having more explanations about this departure.

Lilian’s return?

Change of course at the end of the show. In the few images offered by M6 to announce the episode of the following week – broadcast exceptionally on Thursday, April 21 for the debate between two rounds of the presidential election – a return of Lilian is still possible.

During a special test, Lilian, in addition to the candidate recently eliminated this Wednesday, will have to face the other candidates of “Top Chef” to aspire to rejoin the show. Therefore, it is not impossible for Lilian to find a brigade after her abandonment.

A touch of luck that could not hurt this candidate since his journey on the program has been frustrating. During the “restaurant war” test, Lilian’s team hadn’t had a chance to open theirs, which had caused her old demons to return, following the aborted launch of her restaurant due to the Covid-19.
