This Saturday, April 16, was the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games in the Netherlands. The opportunity for Meghan and Harry to appear united and more in love than ever, especially after Meghan’s speech in which she paid tribute to her incredible husband.
The event was highly anticipated by fans of the former royal couple. The Invictus Games began this saturday april 16 and for the occasion, Meghan and Harry made a rare public appearance together.
Invictus Games creator Harry spoke at the opening ceremony, after Meghan got the ball rolling. The opportunity for her to make a beautiful declaration of love to her husband and father of her children in front of the entire assembly. This speech did not leave Harry indifferent either, since the prince was moved to tears and did not hesitate to affectionately kiss his wife in public. The two newlyweds are truly done with the royal driving suits that have been foisted on them for a long time, now it is accomplices and intimates show to a large audience.
“I couldn’t love and respect him more”
Meghan Markle was quite comfortable on stage and was full of praise for her husband: “Now it’s my honor to introduce you to someone who I think you’ll all be excited to meet. He has also spent many nights and mornings planning these games to be as perfect as possible for each of you.” she explained before adding: “I couldn’t love and respect him more. And I know you all feel the same way because he’s your fellow veteran, having served two tours of duty in Afghanistan and 10 years of military service.”
Meghan finally concluded her speech by calling her husband on stage: “He is the founder of Invictus Games and the father of our two little ones, Archie and Lili. Please welcome my amazing husband.Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex.”
Harry then walked over to her, tears in his eyes, thanking her and speaking in turn. He took the opportunity to talk about her family and in particular her son, Archie, and his future plans at the height of his three years: “When I talk to my son Archie about what he wants to be when he grows up, some days he’s an astronaut, other days he’s a pilot, a helicopter pilot obviously. Or Kwazii from Octonauts. If you laugh, you’ve seen that.” Prince Harry expressed himself with humor, before continuing: “But what I remind her is that no matter what you want to be when you grow up, it’s your character that matters most, and nothing would make his mother and I more proud than to see him have the character of what we see before us today.“
The couple was thus more solid and complicit than ever, away from the dictates of the royal family. Beautiful pictures, which can only soften us.
